Six Frugal Tricks for Great Hair

Having amazing hair at an affordable price is a goal pretty much everyone has. However, it's not as easy as it seems. Fortunately, you can now follow a few tips to get eyecatching hair that won't break the bank.

Smooth It Out

You likely go through an intense process of styling your hair on a daily basis. You're certain that all of the frizz is gone. Then, you take one last look in the mirror, and you discover that it has reappeared. Grab some hand lotion, pour a dab into your hands and run your hands through your hair until the frizz has vanished. Just don't go overboard with the lotion - less is definitely more!

Weekly Treatments

In the store, you probably see pricey treatments that are intended to make your hair shiny and soft. You can make your own at home by combining mayo and two eggs. Once a week, let this potion sit in your hair for about 20 to 30 minutes. The smell can be a little bit tough to get through, but your tresses will be nice and soft once you're done.

Perhaps you like to curl and/or straighten your hair on a regular basis. Instead of spending tons of money on two separate products, look for some that serve double-duty. A number of companies make curlers and straighten irons in one, so purchase items like this to save some money. Just make sure it is a quality piece, or you could be paying to replace it in a short amount of time.

At-Home Dye Jobs

Going to the salon to get your hair dyed can cost an absurd amount of money. Don't spend a fortune to change the colour of your tresses. Choose a dye that has a good reputation. If you want to avoid that dreaded orange shade, just be certain that you choose a box labeled "cool." These colors have blue undertones and should prevent any unwanted redness from coming through.

Broken Blowdryer?

When your blowdryer breaks, you might not have the extra money to purchase a new one now. Let your hair air dry today and experience all the glory of your beautiful locks. Run a little bit of product through it and tussle it upside down to give it a little bit of volume. Roll down the windows on your way to work, and you will look styling in no time.

At-Home Hair Cuts

You might be terrified at the thought of giving yourself an at-home haircut, but it certainly can be done. Start off with a little trim. Take your hair off little by little so that you don't make a mistake. If you decide to do the cut while your hair is wet, remember that it is going to be significantly shorter when it dries. If you're not as confident - consult a few YouTube videos, and go on Craigslist to see if you can find a few wigs to practice on. Ask for tips from those on Reddit or perhaps even your hairstylist, if you can afford to go one more time. Maybe have them do a professional coloring, and milk them for as much juice on trimming as you can while you're there.

As you can see, it's more than possible to maintain an intense sense of style while still looking like you belong on the red carpet (but without having to pay for either of these things)! It takes practice, dedication and confidence, but anyone can do it!
