Top 5 Summer Must-Haves!

Hi Everyone!
My apologies for my absence, I just finished all my exams yesterday- SUMMER'S HERE! I thought it would be appropriate to make a post about 2012's summer must have's. The weather's nice; school's out- now let the fun begin!

1. Blot Powder
My first summer must have is blot powder. As the days get longer and hotter *wipes forehead* you need to keep your face looking fresh! It's normal to sweat, but it can be a bit embarrassing Blot powder will help eliminate excessive sheen of the skin, giving you that flawless "matte" look. My blot powder is from MAC Cosmetics. Get it here.

2. A Good Sunscreen

Protection of skin is vital to prevent various skin diseases including skin cancer. A good sunscreen consists of a SPF minimum of 15. My favorite sunscreen is Hawaiin Tropic Sheer Touch which has an SPF of 50. It keeps my skin healthy and protected, complete with a golden beach ready sheen! When I'm playing sports, or I know I'm going to sweat a lot, I turn to Banana Boat's Sports Performance sunscreen, which has a whopping SPF of 100!

3. A Pair of Comfy, Stylish Flats

Every girl needs shoes they can slip their feet into without worrying about the after-math! A pair of comfortable, stylish flats will help keep your feet looking great, while making YOU look great. These comfy flats don't have to be over $20 which is what I love. Stores like Urban Behavior, Stitches and Spring carry flats for great prices!  Loafers also do the trick for a bit of a dress down shoe. Toms seem to be popping up everywhere, and the money goes to a great cause! Check out TOMS and their cause here.

4. A Go-To Nail Polish
I'm Wired - Sephora by OPI
Leotard Optional- Sephora by OPI

Let's face it- not everyone has the money to go get a manicure once a week! By getting a cute statement nail polish colour for summer, you can get that clean, manicure look without the splurge. Sephora's OPI nail polishes "Leotard Optional" and "I'm Wired" are definitely my favorites. One works for a clean, nude look, and the other pumps up the summer fun with a coral look! Check out how to give yourself a full manicure here. Check out Sephora by OPI Nail Polishes here.

5. A Good Moisturizer for your Hair

Last but not least, you need a good moisturizer for your hair. As fun as the summer sun can be, it can also be very damaging and drying to your locks. I've got my hair in braids as a protective style this summer, but I can't forget my scalp and new growth- they need moisture! Since my hair is already sectioned off, I'm using DooGro's Mega Thick Growth Oil for easy access to my scalp. I am also using African Royale BRX Braid and Extensions Spray on Shampoo, since I won't be able to wash my hair as often. Both condition, soften and moisturize my hair, so I don't have to worry about excessive dryness and breakage. I'll also be using Hello Hydration by Herbal Essence's as a conditioner. Moisture is key for healthy, long hair!

I hope you all enjoyed reading my 'Top 5 Summer Must Haves!' I hope you all have a great, safe summer!
